Places of Interest
Situated on the Cheshire / Greater Manchester border, there are many places of interest within easy reach of our nursery, including no fewer than 8 National Trust Properties within a 10 mile radius; The wooded sandstone escarpment of Alderley Edge (left) gives fine views over the Cheshire Plain. A path from here links up with neighbouring Hare Hill Garden. Nearby Styal Country Park (2 Miles) offers both pleasant riverside walks and much historic interest at Quarry Bank Mill (right) and the factory colony village at Styal. There is another interesting watermill at Nether Alderley. Some of the area’s most impressive country houses are also nearby, including Lyme Park, Tatton Park, and Dunham Massey. In addition, several privately owned stately homes, such as Capesthorne Hall, Gawsworth Hall and Arley Hall and Gardens are also close by.
We are situated 1 mile from Manchester International Airport, 10 miles from Manchester City Centre with its museums, shopping centre’s, concert halls and theatres, and the historic city of Chester is less than an hour’s drive away. The Peak District National Park can be reached in just 30 minutes, as can Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope.
